Cat Grooming Lead By a Certified Feline Master Groomer
All cats need grooming, because cats do not groom themselves, they lick themselves, covering their bodies in saliva. Grooming involves removing mats & tangles, grease, litter box dust, dried urine and fecal particles, fleas, dead hair and dirt from the cats coat with a warm, soothing bath. All of our cat groomers are trained to the highest standards by Jessica, our Certified Feline Master Groomer (CFMG), who also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science- Pre-Veterinary, and is also an Advanced Feline Training & Behavior Specialist. We also use the highest quality cat products to clean your cat’s skin and coat to purrfection, leaving their fur silky soft and smelling great.
Kitty’s First Groom
Safety, minimizing your cat’s stress, and helping them enjoy their spa day are our most important goals. In order to ensure a positive experience for you and your cat, we have some guidelines to make your cat’s first appointment with us go as smoothly as possible.
Grooming services are by appointment only, with Fridays (“Feline Fridays”) and Sundays being our primary cat grooming days in Arcadia. We even have a private room designated just for kitties there! We attempt to limit the number of dogs in the building to help your cat have the best experience possible in a nice, quiet, calm environment.
Due to high demand in Arcadia, we now allow a limited number of cat appointments outside of our primary cat days, but these appointments are not cat exclusive (meaning a normal amount of dogs may be in the building when your cat is here). However we strive to book cats during time slots when we feel the salon will be at its quietest on these days.
We try to groom every cat from start to finish, without interruptions to ensure the comfort of your cat, so we will call you 15 minutes before your cat is finished so that they can go home as soon as they are done.
Please bring your cat in a Secured Carrier to your appointment. This is for your pet’s safety. Cats on leashes or hand-carried in will be charged a carrier rental fee ($25) for the duration of their stay with us. If you are bringing multiple cats, please bring each cat in a separate carrier.
To ensure the health and well being of all our feline guests, please bring your cat’s vaccination records with you to your first appointment. At minimum, a current Rabies vaccination is required, according to your veterinarian’s recommendations. If your cat is not current on its vaccinations, we will also accept Titer test results, as long as they fall within normal range, or a signed health certificate from your cat’s veterinarian. Your cat must have also received veterinary exam within 12 months of your cat’s appointment to ensure that your cat is healthy enough for grooming.
Please note that no service is guaranteed due to the unpredictable and sometimes explosive nature of cats. We absolutely will not push your cat past their limits, as stressing a cat past its threshold could result in adverse health affects, including injury (both to your cat and/or the groomer) or even death. Cats are sensitive creatures and are more prone to stress-induced cardiac complications, so we do everything we can to keep your cat’s stress to a minimum, including offering breaks if needed, calming pheromone sprays, aromatherapy, CBD oil (with owner authorization only, for a small fee), or we may need to alter or eliminate certain aspects of the groom that your cat is unable to tolerate. In cases of severe stress or aggression, we may need to send your cat home and re-schedule for another time. In the event your cat’s groom needs to be altered or terminated early, you will only be charged for the amount of work that was able to be done.
We are able to handle the majority of the cats that we see, but more difficult cats require extra time, special handing, and an often even an assistant to help the groomer, so additional fees may apply for aggressive or overly difficult cats. For cats who are severely aggressive, a prescription for an oral sedative from the vet may be recommended. However, any sedation given to cats is not without risks, so please discuss this with your groomer first. Cats who arrive already sedated without consulting with us in advance may not be eligible for grooming.
Our cat grooming services are in very high demand and we are often booked several weeks in advance. Should you need to cancel or re-schedule your cat’s appointment, you can call (626) 239-0740 for the Arcadia salon during regular business hours. We require at least 24 hours advance notice if you need to cancel or re-schedule, so please try to notify us if your plans change as soon as possible to avoid incurring a fee.

The half belly involves shaving from the sanitary region up to the kitty’s belly button, while the full belly goes from the sanitary region up to the kitty’s chest. Neither shave is visible when the kitty is laying on its belly, and both will help keep your kitty clean and mat-free. A great option for larger kitties, senior kitties or long haired kitties who have a little trouble keeping things clean underneath.
If your kitty slips and slides when they walk on your hardwood or tile floors, or if your kitty gets litter stuck in between their toes, a Toe Tuft Trim is for them! The fur is shaved close to their paw pad, allowing more traction and a clean exit from the litter box. A great option for long haired and arthritic senior kitties!
Nail Treatments
Soft Paws are gel caps that adhere to the surface of your kitty’s claws. If your kitty scratches you or your furniture, this is a great, humane solution! They will not inhibit your cat’s natural movements and cause no discomfort to your kitty. They even come in fun colors that you can mix and match for the holidays, including Glow in the Dark and Sparkle caps!
All kitties should have their nails trimmed every 2-4 weeks, and older kitties especially may not be able to wear them down as easily. Nails continue to grow unless they are worn down or trimmed, and over time they can even grow into and pierce your kitty’s paw pads! Lets prevent that from happening with regular nail trims. We will have your kitty in and out in under 10 minutes. Your kitty, your skin and furniture will thank you!
Just want to come in for a fresh manicure? Want to swap out your kitty’s existing caps for the something fresh and fun? Stop on by! We have lots of colors for you to choose from at our “Pawdicure Station,” including fun caps like Glow in the Dark and Sparkle caps!
Clumps & Tangles
Add to any full service groom package. Not available as a stand-alone service.
Cat skin produces a lot of grease, which coats each hair. As hair reaches the end of its growth cycle and falls out of the hair follicle, the hair can get stuck in the grease and cause a tangle. If the tangle is not brushed out and the dead hair remove, the tangles twist and morph into a mat. If the mats are not removed, they twist and twist down to the skin, and are very very painful to your cat. Mats can also cause things such as bruising, hair loss, skin irritation, wounds, infections, can harbor parasites, and more. Depending on severity, we may be able to remove the mats using techniques that can preserve your cat’s coat, or the mats may need to be shaved out if they are too close to the skin. Your groomer can go over which options would be the safest and most humane for your kitty.
Add to any full service groom package. Not available as a stand-alone service.
If mats are not removed, they can begin merging into a pelt, which is a hard covering of matted, twisted hair covering large portions of the cat’s body. Pelts cannot be removed through brushing, they can only be removed through shaving. A cat who is pelted is a cat who is suffering. Pelting can also inhibit their movement or make urination and defecation more difficult, or even impossible. Risks of pelting include open sores, skin infections, permanent hair loss, bruising, urine burn/scalding, joint problems, muscle atrophy, and septic infections. If pelts are not removed, they can become life threatening. Cats who are severely pelted may need to have their grooms spread out over two appointments to allow the prevent the cat from over-stressing and to allow the skin to heal. Please note that pelt removal fees will double each time the pet returns pelted.
