Salary
Director pay will consist of a base salary, quarterly bonuses, and stipends. Quarterly bonus that is 10% of salary that is based off of sales goals reached, reviews being excellent, staying under budget for supplies, incidents and maintenance, staying under payroll budget including vacation, sick time, and fridge benefits, and positive quart key surveys from the current staff. Stipends that range from $150-$1,000 per week and will be given when sales goals are reached.

Job Description:
Instructors are responsible for ensuring that the salon is safe, efficient and well maintained at all times, that the students, groomers, customers and pets on the premises are safe, and the quality of the grooms being done are up to WCGA’s high standards. The Instructor reports directly to the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) for student or class related operations, and the Salon Director for day-to-day operations. Instructors are also responsible for sourcing student dogs, making academy grooming appointments, maintaining student records, administering exams, submitting weekly reports, and keeping accurate attendance. The Instructor should have excellent classroom management skills, leadership skills, and detail oriented. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Job Duties:
The Instructor and/or Assistant Instructor’s main priority is to teach the Students how to groom dogs safely and to industry standards. This includes how to bathe and dry dogs properly, trim and grind nails, how to brush, comb and de-mat dogs according to their coat type, how to cut and style dogs according to their breed standard, how to hand strip when needed, how to properly hold and use shears and clippers, how to clean and maintain grooming equipment, salon cleaning, sanitation, and how and when to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Most importantly, the Instructor should ensure that the Students know the 10 Danger Zones and how to work safely around them without injury. Additional advanced grooming skills such as asian fusion, creative grooming, cat grooming, etc preferred, but not required. Continuing education opportunities are enthusiastically encouraged for Instructors.
Additionally, Instructorsare required to submit weekly reports to the Chief Academic Officer (CAO), record attendance, submit student incident reports (if needed), provide campus tours, assist in student enrollment, and any additional tasks assigned by the CAO.
Additional Duties Include:
- Making sure all tools are clean, disinfected and in working order.
- Ensuring that all student tools are signed out daily and accounted for when returned.
- Making sure the salon is always neat, clean and ready for the day both before and after class.
- Making sure the Students, Certified Groomers, pets and customers are safe at all times.
- Checking inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring that all supplies that are needed are available for your students.
- Checking your grooming appointments weekly and making sure the Students have enough suitable dogs to work on that are appropriate for their skill level and progress in the course.
- Grooming dogs in the event a student calls out.
- Ensuring that you and your Students and Interns are taking all designated breaks and lunches daily, as required.
- Administering, grading and recording student exams, and providing tutoring when needed to ensure optimal student performance and pass rates.
- Administering, grading and approving bathing and final technical exams.
- Photographing candid and exam grooms for social media and student portfolios.
- Ordering and awarding certificates upon course completion.
- Filing and maintaining accurate Student records.
- Submitting attendance and weekly reports to Chief Academic Officer.
- Emailing student questions or concerns to Chief Academic Officer in a timely manner.
- Facilitating learning events and workshops when possible.
- Providing exemplary customer service to both customers and Students alike.
- Overseeing Intern Schedules.
- Providing training and support to new Instructors, when needed.
- Promoting student development and school growth.
- Promoting new classes and enrolling students when needed.
- Ensuring that all policies and procedures are being followed at all times.

Compensation:
Instructor salaries will be determined by a number of factors including years of prior teaching and/or grooming experience, certification, and/or previous employment evaluations.
